Little Words

...big ideas!

Children have so much to say, all we have to do is learn how to listen.

Why "little words"?

Babies and toddlers are in constant communication with us, but they use a language that we, as adults, have long forgotten.  It’s a language made of sound and movement and expression, and sometimes it can be hard for us to understand.  I like to think of these communication strategies as little words, since they are the very beginnings of language.  And I believe that behind every little word is a big idea!

Babies have many thoughts and ideas that they want to express, but speech takes a long time to develop which means they must rely on other methods of communication.  We, in turn, have to learn how to interpret and decode these signals.  Once we are able to do this, we enter a whole new world of understanding and insight into the mind of the child.

Through music, sign language, play, and physical connection, we can tap into the meaning of these little words to better understand what our children are trying to say… and in doing so, enjoy a rich and rewarding relationship with them as they grow!
