Baby Signing FAQ
Baby Signing is a communication method that combines spoken words, gestures, facial expressions, and ASL (American Sign Language) signs. It allows babies to express themselves before they can talk, reducing frustration and encouraging language development.
No. ASL is a complete language with its own grammar and syntax used in the Deaf community. Baby Signing is a communication tool that uses ASL signs, gestures, and spoken language, typically for hearing families with hearing children.
No, these classes are designed for hearing families with hearing children. If you are interested in ASL for a Deaf child, we recommend working with a Deaf teacher or an immersive ASL program.
You’ll learn up to 10 new signs per week and insights into ASL and the Deaf community. Classes also cover broader parenting topics like sleep, nutrition, tantrums, and potty training. Each session includes themed activities, songs, and book readings, plus time for discussion and play.
This program is cumulative, so drop-ins are not available. Each class builds on the previous one, making full participation essential.

Muscial Program FAQ
We group children by developmental stage:
-
Little Babies: For non-mobile infants who experience music while seated or held.
-

- Toddlers: For more interactive music experiences, including singing and imaginative play.
If space allows, individual classes may be available for drop-in. Pre-registration is required, and drop-in rates apply.
• Any form of engagement benefits babies, even at a very young age. Your baby may enjoy smiling, kicking their legs, waving their arms, or simply looking around curiously. If you notice these responses during activities like singing, dancing, or playing with scarves, it’s a great sign that they’re having fun!
• Social interaction is incredibly valuable for early development. Even being in a new environment with different sounds, sights, and people helps stimulate your baby’s growing brain. They’re learning so much just by being there—plus, they’ll be exposed to fun musical concepts along the way!

Instrument Adventures FAQ
• Both the Musical Playground and Instrument Adventures series encourage children to explore music through singing, dancing, cuddling, and play. Both also emphasize parent participation to create a shared music-making experience.
• Instrument Adventures adds an educational component, introducing musical concepts such as sound, pitch, rhythm, and melody. Additionally, the program includes two craft days where children make their own musical instruments to take home!
- Throughout the 8-week program, children will explore a variety of instruments, including violin, guitar, ukulele, trumpet, trombone, piano, xylophone, flute, clarinet, and various world percussion and sound-effect instruments.
- While children will get hands-on access to most instruments, those involving a mouthpiece (trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet) will be demonstration-only for hygiene reasons.
- No. This is a parent-present class. You are welcome to sit off to the side if you prefer, but you must remain onsite for the entire class.
- Parent participation makes the class more fun and engaging, so we encourage you to join in whenever possible! If your child needs guidance, we ask that parents step in to help them stay focused and engaged.
