Welcome to this edition of our monthly "Spotlight" series! Each month we shine a spotlight on a local business that is making a positive impact on the family scene in the Lower Mainland.
This month we are featuring a program that is brand new to the Lower Mainland, led by a Mama with a passion for babies and children.
Meet Khudeja, a Mom and Paediatric Sleep Consultant with 10 years of experience - and owner of Baby College Tri-Cities
Khudeja loves everything related to development and adores children. She started Baby College in the UK and has brought the franchise over to BC.
Baby College is a science based and backed development class full of music, Makaton signing, games, activities and so much more. It's a class where parents and carers spend the class bonding with their little ones.
Khudeja is a dedicated mum and wife. She not only runs her business but also homeschools her oldest son who is 11. She is excited to be offering this program in the Tri-Cities this coming year!
Q&A with Khudeja

Why did you choose to start Baby College?
While I was in the UK for 3 years, being a sleep consultant of 10 years I was looking for something different that utilized my expertise in development and my love of children. Baby College literally fell into my lap! The owner of Baby College Stratford upon Avon was looking to hand over the business and my love for children and background of working with families and connecting with parents was just the right fit for Baby College!
I did my training and started running classes in the UK for 1 year. When my family decided to move back home to BC, it was an amazing opportunity to bring Baby College with me to BC.
I am looking to building an amazing community and tribe of parents here and running an inclusive class!

Why does child development matter so much to you?
I am a mum of 2 boys, Adam and Ali, who were born prematurely at 31 and 33 weeks who are also on the autism spectrum. So I know first hand the importance of development practice and the difference it has made their lives.
I chose to become a double qualified sleep consultant because of my son's sleeping situation, and fell in love with the science-based and research backed developmental classes that Baby College offers.

What is it that fuels you everyday?
I'm a wife and mother to two boys, and I homeschool my oldest son, so between this and running a business, life keeps me pretty busy!
It's my love for my children and family, and my passion for helping other families that keeps me going.
