Spotlight: Coach Britanico

Creator of Bubs & Hubs

Welcome to this edition of our monthly “Spotlight” series! Each month we shine a spotlight on a local business that is making a positive impact on the family scene in the Lower Mainland.

This month we are featuring a Dad who cares deeply about family wellness, connection, and supporting new parents; and has created a unique fitness program that helps dads bond with their babies while giving moms a well-deserved break!

Meet Jeff:
Dad, Trainer, creator of Bubs & Hubs

Coach Britanico (Jeff) is the creator/instructor of Bubs & Hubs, a dad-and-baby fitness program designed to help fathers build confidence, strength, and deeper bonds with their little ones.

A lifelong athlete and certified strength coach, Jeff believes parenting is an underestimated most physical undertaking of our lives — and yet one we rarely prepare for. After becoming a dad, he quickly realized that the best way to stay strong, stay present, and stay connected was to invite his daughter into the process rather than try to work around her.

Bubs & Hubs was born from that idea: a space where dads can move, lift, laugh, and learn while their babies join in the fun. The classes focus on functional strength, posture, stability, and mobility that emphasize the skills needed for play time and daily life like carrying, lifting, squatting, hinging, crawling, and playing on the floor.

And just as importantly:

Bubs & Hubs gives moms a break, strengthens the parenting unit, and supports the wellbeing of the whole family.

Through his classes, Jeff aims to offer a supportive community for new dads, helping them feel more capable, more connected, and more confident in their role at home.

Q&A with Coach Britanico

What inspired you to create Bubs & Hubs?

After my daughter was born, I realized three things:
1. Parenting is an athletic event
2. Bonding happens through shared experiences and quality time (not just being in the same room)
3. It benefits the whole house when Mom gets a break!

I created Bubs & Hubs so dads could build the physical skills parenthood demands while building a stronger relationship with their baby.

What makes Bubs & Hubs different from other parent/baby classes?

Most classes are designed with moms in mind which is amazing, but there is an obvious need for dads in this space. While moms or both parents in the same class are absolutely welcome, Bubs & Hubs is designed for:

  • Functional strength that translates into real parenting tasks
  • Exercises that safely include your baby as part of the workout
  • A supportive community of dads
  • Zero judgment, zero pressure
  • It’s fitness, bonding, and dad camaraderie all in one.

What do babies get out of the exercise?

More than you think! Babies experience:

  • Sensory stimulation
  • Movement exposure
  • Social time
  • Watching Dad model healthy activity
  • And lots of connection and silliness.
