Korean Storytime

Miss Jenny offers a family-friendly program of songs, stories and hands-on activities that is specially designed for Korean-speaking families.

Miss Jenny is a mom of one toddler and has over 10 years of experience teaching in elementary schools. She believes that children learn language best through play, repetition, and shared experiences with caring adults. Research shows that early exposure to additional languages can support the development of early literacy – especially when learning occurs in a developmentally appropriate, joyful, and low-pressure environment.

Each session introduces Korean through shared picture books, simple songs, movement, and familiar routines. Children are invited to listen, participate, and explore at their own pace, alongside their caregivers. Rather than focusing on memorization or fluency, Korean Storytime emphasizes exposure, enjoyment, and connection—allowing language to be absorbed naturally over time.

We welcome families of all backgrounds, including Korean and bilingual families, as well as those who are simply curious about another language and culture. This program supports early literacy, cultural curiosity, and strong caregiver-child bonds.

Jenny is excited to share songs, stories, and playful learning with babies and tots!

Mandarin Storytime

Mandarin Storytime is a joyful space where little ones and their caregivers can sing, move, play, and explore Mandarin together through stories, music, and play.

Jing is a mom to an energetic toddler, an education professional with over 10 years of experience in the post-secondary sector, and a passionate believer in the power of learning through connection and play. The idea for Mandarin Storytime grew from the special moments Jing shared with her own daughter—reading books, singing songs, and discovering the world together through language. Seeing how much joy, connection, and learning these experiences brought to her family, she wanted to create a welcoming space where other families could experience the same magic.

Jing believes that language learning should be fun, playful, and filled with laughter. Through Mandarin Storytime, she hopes to spark curiosity, nurture a love of Mandarin and Chinese culture, and provide opportunities for families to connect, build friendships, and create lasting memories together. Whether it’s singing a silly song, joining in an interactive story, or making new friends, every family is welcome to come learn, play, and grow together.

Cantonese Storytime

Hello! I’m a mom to a wonderful 3-year-old, and one of my greatest passions is preserving our family’s Cantonese language and culture. I make it a priority to speak Cantonese with my son every day so he can stay connected to his roots while growing up in a multilingual world.

With over 4 years of experience in social work and more than 10 years working with children in the medical field, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to learn through play.

My goal is to provide a warm, engaging, and educational Cantonese playgroup where children aged 0–36 months can explore language naturally through songs, stories, sensory play, and meaningful interactions. I look forward to helping families build confidence in using Cantonese while creating joyful memories together.

German Storytime

Meet Frank!

He’s a dad to a spirited little toddler, and becoming a father has gotten him thinking a lot about how to raise her here in Canada while still keeping her close to her German roots — through the words they use, the traditions they keep, and the little moments they share every day.

Frank moved to Canada from Germany in 2013, and along the way he’s come to really believe that knowing where you come from is a gift — and that language, right alongside food, is one of the best ways to feel connected to a culture.

Frank loves that Canada is a place that welcomes so many different cultures and celebrates the best of what each one brings. He’s excited to bring a bit of that German spirit to Little Words Studio, and to give German-speaking (and German-curious!) families a fun, easy way to come together as a community.

Through songs, stories, and playful routines, kids get a warm, early introduction to the German language, while parents get to meet other families — whether they share the same roots or are just curious to explore something new. Everyone is welcome to come learn, play, and grow together!
